Silver Invicta

The Silver Invicta fly is excellent during the summer, especially towards the end.

Fish will often rise to it and is good when used on a floating line.

It seems to be at its best when sedges are about, truly a “must have” in any fly fisherman’s fly box.

 

Dressing

 

Hook:  Size 14, 12 or 10, medium-shank bronze.

Tying silk: Black

Tail: Golden pheasant crest whisks.

Body: Silver tinsel ribbed with ginger-brown cock hackle tied palmer-style.

Wing: Hen-pheasant feather.

Hackle: A few fibres of blue jay.

Head: Black varnish.
