The Sherry Spinner has been used to great effectiveness in the chalk streams but is also very effective in small fisheries and reservoirs. The important thing to remember when tying this fly is to keep the hackle fairly sparse, this gives the effect of it sitting low in the water just like the natural fly laying her eggs.
Hook: 14 up eye.
Silk: Pale Orange.
Whisks: Light Ginger cock hackle fibres.
Rib: Gold Wire
Body: Deep Orange Floss or Orange Dyed Hackle Stalk, un-ribbed.
Wings: Pale Blue dun Hackle Points Set Spent.
Hackle: Rhode Island Red Cock.
