Hatching Orange Pupa

The Hatching Orange Pupa. This nymph shows the correct shape of a chironomid about to hatch, so my advice is to fish it high in the water as the water begins to warm up during early May. Orange is not as unusual a colour for a nymph as you might think. Most pupae momentarily display a bright colour during that split-second before they hatch.
