The Dunkeld wet fly has always proved a popular pattern with traditional loch style fishing. It is superb when fished on the point with its fine qualities as an attracter and can move fish even on the slowest of days. It actually originates from the popular Salmon fly of the same name.
Hook: Size 14, 12 or 10.
Tying silk: Black.
Tail: Golden pheasant crest.
Body: Flat gold tinsel ribbed with gold wire.
Hackle: Hot orange cock fibres, throat only or palmered.
Wing: Bronze Mallard.
Eyes: Jungle cock or jungle cock substitute eyes.
Head: Black varnish.
