This fly, the Butcher, is normally used as a team of three flies and is best on the point. It is tremendous when fished Loch style and very rarely fails.
Many fishermen also use it on a slow sinking line with a steady retrieve along the bottom and again can be deadly on its day.
It is probably one of the best-known flies as it’s been around for more than 150 years and most fishermen have used this pattern one time in their life.
